Review Title : 136807 - "Easter at La Ferme des Montaigu"

"A beautiful farmhouse in a glorious place. It is beautifully decorated and finished to a very high standard - the website just doesn't do it justice. The kitchen is well equipped and there are large areas for dining and for sitting and relaxing. The owners were charming and very helpful and allowed us to use their phone to sort out a broken windscreen. The kids loved their room and enjoyed running around in the wide open spaces. We would definitely like to go back, perhaps with friends and would recommend this property to anyone. "

Hi Wendy and Phillip

I would like to send this email in appreciation for the great time we had in the Gite.

GITE ; ……………………….LA FERME DES MONTAIGU

HOST AND HOSTESS…..PHILIP  & WENDY  MOTT

    DATE FROM…………… ..30/05/09 TO  6/06/09

CLIENTS ………………… CATHERINE & JOHNNY STEVENS. UK

THIS IS ONE OF THE NICEST HOLIDAYS WE HAVE EVER HAD. RESTFUL PEACEFULL AND YET NOT FAR AWAY  FROM ALL THE SITES TO SEE AND BEAUTIFUL BEACHES, GRANVILLE, JOULEVILLE, AND THE WONDERFUL VILLIAGE OF VILLEDIEU LE POELES  IT IS SOMETHING OUT OF A FAIRY TALE .

The boat from  Portsmouth to  Caen was a fabulous journey  . The Gite is situated in such a beautiful  area it is breath taking. The Gite  has been carefully put  back together after hundreds of years  with  beautiful  décor and lots of lovely  French furnishings which have been matched up  by Wendy so  very carefully and fit  into the Gits so  very well  it makes you  feel  welcome.  Wendy & Phil  are  great  people  so  down to  earth yet business people as the same time. When we arrived we went into the kitchen and Wendy  had milk, orange juice, bread , ham , cheese , & butter  already in the fridge for us what a lovely greeting. Wendy  & Phil  make you  feel part  of the family and they  have two  wonderful  boys so very well mannered. We had fun  with them in playing some games on the massive lawns that they  have. The breakfasts are to die for  fresh eggs everyday (  you had better go on a diet before you go )  and the evening meals  are really scrumptious she is such a  great cook .The salad foods are all home grown and picked fresh every day.We went out one day when we came back  Wendy  had made lemon drizzle  cake and cheese scones and left them on the worktop in our kitchen what  a nice surprise . The overall  assumption of this dwelling is that  it is a fabulous place very welcoming and I would absolutely recommend to other  people. If you  want elegance in décor , excellent in cleanliness, excellent in food and most of all  fabulous host & hostess this is the place for you  . On what  we have just experience We would give 10/10  as we could not fault  at all ,  this accommodation is defiantly worth a visit  you could not find any better.

We will be returning hopefully next year

Thanks you for everything. Catherine & Johnny

The gite is in a beautiful setting - rural and very quiet - and is very well equipped and decorated to a very high standard.  It is perfect for children and mine both loved spending time in the garden, in the pool, on the trampoline and especially the impromptu cricket match one evening.  A particular favourite was feeding the pigs and everbody loved the dogs - Buddy and Barney - even me.  I always felt the children were safe and it was great for them to have so much room to let off steam.  They both loved it and want to go back again next year. The gite is also well placed for the lovely beaches near Granville - especially Carolles Plage - and tourist attractions such as Mont St Michel, St Malo and the D-Day landings beaches. We all enjoyed our holiday and everyone is keen to return next year.  Wendy and Phil made us feel very welcome and were always happy to give advice regarding places to visit etc.  It was perfect for us and I would definitely recommend it to other families.

Review Title : 88271 - "A charming B&B in a beautiful countryside"

"I've been there with my wife who is waiting fir a baby. The place is simply nice and beautiful. No pollution, no cars, no noise, a lake, lot of pathes across the normandy's country. It is close from caen (less than 1hour by car), coutances and Avranches.
Wendy & Phil are also working to get this place very nice by their true friendliness.
Thank you,
A french couple from Caen !"

Review Title : 83121 - "An Excellent Holiday"

"We wanted to revisit Mont St Michel & Villedieu and explore the Mortain region. 'La Ferme' proved to be the ideal location to do just that. Located within 5 mins of the motorway, but off the main roads it was also very quiet with no road noise. Mont St Michel is about 40 mins away. Villedieu only 6mins & the Mortain region just beyond. The accomodation is very clean & comfortable and decorated to a very high standard. Tea & coffee facilities provided & TV/DVD CD player. My two daughters (aged 12 & 13) loved their double room & the ensuite shower. A very pleasant & relaxing place to return to each day.
The continental breakfast (included in the price) was superb, Tea/Coffee, Orange juice, cereals, yoghurt, ham, cheese, eggs & warm bread..... Like being in a Enid Blyton novel. (showing my age now). The main meal (optional) should be seriously considered as excellent value for money. We don't think you could beat it on quality or presentation. Very relaxing and enoyable meals that do not stint on quantity or quality. La Ferme itself is great fun to wander around.... be it playing with the cats, chickens, ducks & dogs; or bouncing on the trampoline, exploring the lake opposite (full of frogs). Or just sitting reading, talking or relaxing with a drink it is hard to fault, and we never did.
In short from the first welcoming cup of tea & bit of cake to the last farewell handshake Philip & Wendy are very pleasant company & excellent hosts. Providing lots of local knowledge & ideas. Always available for anything you might need.An excellent holiday. We look forward to returning again, and have recommended it to all our friends, family & colleagues. "

To Phil, Wendy and Boys

Thank you for a lovely time at your B&B, from the moment we arrived you gave us the warmest of welcomes, coffee, homemade cakes, and scones. There is no way I could lose weight from your cooking, from breakfast to the evening meal which is all freshly prepared and cooked was the best I have tasted for a long time.  Meeting the family was also a great experience the boys, who are great, as are the dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, and the rabbit. We cannot wait to meet the piggys. The B&B rooms are clean warm and full of character.

Having a separate lounge for the B&B Guest is a great idea, somewhere to relax and put our feet up after walking the surrounding area, which is a dream, the rolling countryside, lakes, and a lovely original Normandy Longere house.

 Wendy ,Phil and boys,

Thank you so much for making our stay in France so special. The bed and breakfast exceeded our expectaions of accomodations. After staying in Paris, your quiet and peaceful setting was just what we needed to decompress. It was within driving distance of all attractions we wanted to see. Wendy's meals were delicious and very filling. Your family was very friendly and our boys felt comfortable interacting with your sons. The rooms themselves were comfortable and included everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

Best regards from Nova Scotia, were the winter has finally come to an end!

Review Title : 82703 - "Nice and Quiet Holiday in the Countryside"

"We really enjoyed staying in an old but recently-refurbished farmhouse, in the middle of a magnific scenery.  Our hosts treated us like old friends, trying their best to make us feel confortable. The meals they served us were rich and tasty.
The location of B&B was really convenient, easily reachable from the motorway and suitable as a starting point for day trips in Normandy.
